SYNOPSIS: When faced with the end of life, two very different hospice roommates attack their fates. Alvin, a stubborn and ornery 73 year old man, simply wants some peace and quiet, but he faces a new challenge to his mundane and regimented existence with the arrival of Kevin (25) and his lively girlfriend Sarah, both of whom are determined to make Kevin’s final days fun and meaningful.

With the help of the hospice's head nurse Evelyn, Sarah spices up life for the roommates with an attempt to bring some joy and color into their lives. This is not what Alvin had expected. Kevin and Sarah’s obvious love for one another forces Alvin to reflect on his own life and failed marriage, and his self-imposed apathy begins to wear down.

When Alvin escapes his room to avoid the young lovers’ wild antics, he runs into an attractive firecracker named Valerie. She is headstrong and independent and becomes someone with whom Alvin can share his many fears and regrets. Empowered by Valerie’s love and acceptance, Alvin gradually discovers the beauty in Kevin’s belief that it's not the minutes in life that count, but how you spend the moments.
